Utilization of Subsidy due to the damage of the Great Tohoku Earthquake

I would like to express my heartfelt sympathy to everyone adversely affected by the tremendous damage caused by the Great Tohoku Earthquake and sincerely hope for everyone's rapid recovery.

I am now writing blog in order to provide useful information to especially foreign managers living in Japan and the employees who work for these foreign-based companies.

Utilization of the Employment Adjustment Subsidy/Immediate Employment Security Subsidy for SMEs due to the damage of the Great Tohoku Earthquake

Financial assistance is provided to enterprises that have been forced to cut production and downsize their operations due a reduction in profitability as a result of the exceptional economic factors such as the Great Tohoku Earthquake. The subsidy is designed to partially fund the costs incurred by these enterprises for providing their employees with allowances and/or wages associated with temporary leave.

Based on the March 18, 2011 announcement from the Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare, financial assistance can now be received if an enterprise is forced to cut production or downsize its operations as a result of economic factors due to the Great Tohoku Earthquake.

The measures and announcements related to the earthquake are announced by the Ministry of Health, Labor and Welfare almost every day. We regret such valuable information is not translated into other languages. As one of our support services, as it relates to this disaster, we are translating new announcements into English as they become available.

I believe there are many enterprises that want to take advantage of this subsidy as soon as possible in order to carry on their business operations in Tohoku and/or the Kanto area because by making use of this subsidy, such enterprises can have some of their employees take temporary paid leave while the enterprise manages through this especially difficult period.

It would be my privilege to assist enterprises in making use of this importation information.
