How to cope with problem employee

Today, I'd like to talk about how to cope with problem employee.

Let's take a look at the types of problem employees

Types and countermeasures

1) Non-compliance with instructions of managers

This is when the employee does not follow the instructions of managers, is uncooperative with colleagues, shows worsening attitude at work.

2)  Poor attendance

This is when the Employee is excessively late to work or leaves early from work, or takes too many holidays or other worsening conditions at work.

3) Insult or defamation using Social Networking System

This is when the employee inflicts serious damages on the company's business by insulting or defaming the company, its employees or related business partners, or interfere with the company's business by spreading or propagating rumors

In order to cope with these types, it's very important to understand rules with regard to discipline stipulated in the Rules of Employment and cope with above 3 types in complied with the rules

Treat above (1), (2) and (3) as breaches of company rules.

1. Investigate the problem, ascertain the relevant facts and obtain objective evidence to confirm a breach of the company rules.

2. Take a statement from the employee responsible for the problem and take record of findings.

3. Consider the disciplinary measures to be taken

4. Then follow the procedures stipulated in the Rules of Employment from the ligher one to severe one.

i. Issue warning and light disciplinary penalty

ii. If the employee concerned fails to understand that his/her conduct is a problem and continues such conduct, impose moderate disciplinary penalty

iii. After due consideration of the circumstances, decide whether to offer a second chance or terminate the employment

(voluntary severance, resignation on admonition, punitive dismissal)
