It has become easy to receive the unemployment benefit!

When the business operation was stopped due to the earthquake and the salary has not been paid, the unemployment benefit is available to apply even if a worker didn't leave his/her job.

A worker is also able to receive the unemployment benefit even when the company suspended business operations due to the disaster, and when the worker left the company for the tentative period on the assumption that the company will rehire him/her after the business restarts.

Please talk with the employer and confirm the prospect of the business operation and employment and whether the salary and the allowances will be paid.

  • In this case, it is necessary that the company which you worked for submit "Certificate of Leave of Absence (Kyugyo Shomeisho)" to the Public Employment Security Office. Please make sure to bring "Copy of Certificate of Leave of Absence(Kyugyohyo)" issued by the employer when you go to the Public Employment Security Office.
