** Qualifying period for pension shortened from 25 years to 10 years **
From August 2017, the qualifying period required when receiving Basic Pension and others is shortened from 25 years to 10 years.
If you have been a company employee and a member of the Old-age Employees Pension for more than 10 years at the moment of August 2017, you had to be members of it for 25 years, but now you can receive the pension from August 2017.
This law amendment applies to people have foreign nationality.
Followings are the questions you may have:
1- When can I receive my pension?
2-How much pension can I receive?
3- Do I have to go to the pension office in order to claim the pension?
In case you cannot go to the pension office by yourself or you’d like to have specialist to proceed on behalf of you, it is possible to proceed by presenting a power of attorney to prove to the agent to whom the procedure was delegated by you.
Especially for foreign nationals, I think there are some difficulty such as not easy to understand application in Japanese.
At MASHR Consulting, we will proceed on behalf of everyone who considers difficult to claim for pension in Japanese.
